On the past weekend (April 9th&10th) the first official German ADLG tournament was held at the Marksburg Schänke in Braubach. The current 4th edition of the rules were played, using 15 mm figures. All armies until 1049 AD were allowed, so all medieval armies with knights were excluded. After many players had started the event on Friday evening by meeting for a meal and a few drinks in town, we went up to the castle for 5 games on Saturday and Sunday. With a nice atmosphere, exciting games and a beautiful view over the Middle Rhine Valley the tournament was a great experience for which I would like to thank all participants and fellow organisers.
With 28 players the number of participants was
also greater than at the first unofficial German ADLG tournament, which had
been held, also in Braubach, in October 2020 and where 18 players had attended.
There were players from different parts of Germany, but we could also welcome
some international guests. There were 3 games on Saturday and afterwards a
common dinner at the Marksburg Schänke and 2 more games on Sunday and the
presentation of the trophies. There were prizes for the best three players as
well as one for the best painted army. Here I would like to thank Rafa Tortosa
Gutierrez from Wargamers Whims, who sponsored our event with some beautiful
extras.
